About Us

The We Can't Police Our Way Out of the Pandemic group emerged in response to concerning and problematic public health and state interventions aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19. Established in 2020, we’re a group of activists, researchers, frontline workers, students, community members, and/or artists who meet to discuss and collaborate on various projects to challenge and resist against colonial and punitive responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our guiding principles are grounded in anti-colonial, abolitionist, anti-racist, and anti-police perspectives. We take guidance from the learnings of HIV organizing and advocacy and want to forefront the voices of those who have resisted, and are actively resisting the on-going stigma and state oppression towards those living with HIV. Contact us to learn more and get involved.
